A great experience to immerse yourself in the Durga Puja festivities.
This visit allowed me to see various pandals (ephemeral temples) and see where the statues are made.
Luckily I did the tour on the last day when the statues are immersed in the Hoogly River

It’s an excellent tour with Soham, smiling, passionate about his profession and his city.
You won’t only see but experience the Durga Puja festivities.

With just a layover in Kolkata, we were super thankful to Soham for the Durga Puja tours which are the perfect way to navigate the streets and learn about the rich cultural significance of the festival and pandals, but also to experience the people, some food and craftsmanship. Soham has incredible story telling and takes care of you throughout the tour. He even accommodated my vegan dietary requirements! If there is one thing you do in Kolkata, let it be one of Calcutta Capsule’s tours.

  3. Kati Murbach

The Durga puja afternoon walk was one of the highlights of my stay in Kolkata. We visited many different pandals, tasted different sweets, coconut water, kati rolls and had a good chat about Kolkata’s life. We could see even the plce, where the a idols was created by craftsmen. Really, really a good program😍

I am not novice to Puja having lived in Balllygunge Phari in Calcutta. However Soham enriched our appreciation of Durga Puga tenfold. Our tour last Friday was absolutely excellent and so enjoyable! Simply put he is extremely knowledgeable about his city and he communicates this with so much enthusiasm. He is incredibly attentive to the needs of the group and literally bends over backwards to give everyone a wonderful experience. Huge thanks Sihanouk and we look forward to our next tour with you on Saturday!!
